The Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) responded to the introduction of the new section of the Trans Sumatra toll road that was inaugurated by President Jokowi on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
PDIP secretary Hasto Kristiyanto said on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, that this achievement reflects the national infrastructure development that continues to be developed despite being hampered by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Under President Jokowi, infrastructure development reached the fastest progress since the republic was established,” Hasto wrote in a statement on January 27, 2021.
The 657 kilometers Trans Sumatra toll road is currently operable with another 608 kilometers under construction and 430 kilometers under the initial construction phase. The toll road will significantly reduce travel time from Lampung to Palembang from 12 hours to only three and a half hours.
Hasto claimed that the integrated connectivity of the Java-Sumatra toll roads “is no longer just a dream” and that “infrastructure is proven to boost optimism and people’s spirit for Indonesia’s development.”
