Job Creation Law Derivatives Drive Hope for Economic Recovery: State Secretary

The State Secretariat hoped that the issuance of 49 derivative regulations of the Job Creation Law, or Law No. 11 of 2020, could immediately bring impacts on economic recovery and become a momentum for national awakening in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The President has passed regulations on the implementation of the law consisting of 45 Government Regulations (PP) and 4 Presidential Regulations (Perpres), which are expected to have an immediate impact on efforts to restore the national economy,” said the State Secretariat Ministry’s Head of the Public Relations Bureau, Eddy Cahyono Sugiarto, in a written statement in Jakarta, Sunday, February 21.

Eddy said the 49 regulations stipulated the business licensing sector based on risk, ease, protection, and empowerment of cooperatives and the small and medium enterprises or SMEs.

In addition, there were also tax regulations that support ease of doing business, spatial planning, environment and forestry, the land sector, and the labor sector.

The Job Creation Law which was released on November 2, 2020, aimed at providing the widest possible quality of work opportunities, empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), simplifying regulations, and improving the investment ecosystem in order to accelerate national strategic projects.
