The Governor of South Sulawesi, Nurdin Abdullah, said that in the near future there will be investors from Dubai, Arab Emirates (UAE), investing in the Selayar Islands and Bulukumba. Nurdin hopes for the cooperation of all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, to fully support the investment plan.

Nurdin said that foreign investors on average bring their own visitors to the tourist attractions they invest in. Therefore, he said, the provincial government and the tourism sector would not have to work too hard to attract visitors.

Speaking at his office on Monday, February 9, Nurdin also said that the South Sulawesi provincial government had reached a cooperation agreement with PT Widodo Makmur Unggas to make the area a national meat granary.

The South Sulawesi Provincial Government is preparing 5,000 hectares for cattle farming in Seko, to optimize the cooperation. “Yesterday, we met with all leaders of PT Widodo Makmur Unggas Group. We will formulate the cooperation for developing cattle farms, and we will focus on Seko, North Luwu,” he said.
