Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade has said that empowering human resources and ensuring the availability of goods and services are key for expanding export markets.
Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti said that Indonesia has significant potential to expand its export market, particularly through products developed by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“One way to boost exports is through empowerment, which means empowering human resources and ensuring supply availability,” Esti informed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
She emphasized that the availability of goods is essential. When demand from foreign markets increases, Indonesia must be ready with an adequate supply of both goods and services.
Furthermore, she said that Indonesia needs to thoroughly analyze the potential and opportunities in international markets.
She noted that the Ministry of Trade has implemented several programs related to national export development, as this is one of its top priorities.
MSMEs must also take advantage of trade agreements established by the government. Additionally, Indonesia has trade promotion centers (ITPC) abroad, which provide information on export opportunities and potential markets, she said.
“I believe we can strengthen collaboration in the future, particularly between MSME players and ITPCs abroad. This will allow us to open market access there and tailor it to meet the specific needs of those markets,” she added.
